गरीब कल्याण रोजगार योजना – 2020 ? Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi , launched Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan from Telihar village in Khagaria District of Bihar on June 20, 2020
Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan is part of relief package of Rs. 20 Lakh Crore announced by the Central Government in the month of May 2020.
It aims to empower and provide livelihood opportunities to the returnee migrant workers and rural citizens affected by COVID-19 induced lockdown.
About The Scheme
It is rural public works scheme which is launched with an initial funding if Rs. 50000 Crore for 116 districts in 6 states.
A total of 116 districts when more than 25000 migrant workers each across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha have been chosen for the campaign which includes 27 aspirational districts.
It will be operationalised through the Common Service Centers and Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s.
Aspirational Districts are those districts in India which are affected by poor socio-economic indicators.
Objectives of Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan
Provided of immediate employment opportunities to returnee migrant workers and similarly affected rural population.
Development of public infrastructure and assets in villages.
Create long term livelihood opportunities.
Duration & Work under the Scheme
The campaign will work in mission mode for 125 days and will involve 25 different types of works to provide employment to the migrant workers on one hand and create infrastructure in the rural regions of the country on the other hand.
These 25 works of projects are related to meet the needs of the villages like rural housing for the poor, plantations, provision of drinking water through Jal Jeevan mission, Panchayat Bhavans, community toilets, rural roads, and other infrastructure like Cattle Sheds, Aganwadis Bhavans etc. among other across six states.
conclusion:- This Scheme is a very profitable for every migrant workers , because during lockdown session lots of migrant workers died in lockdown.
