Who was Mike Tyson?

Mike Tyson is a great and too famous in prizefighting history for his miracle actions both inside the ring and also outside the ring. His speed and power and energy, aggression earned him the World Boxing Council heavyweight title in 1986, making the youngest champion in history.

Mike Tyson was born in Brooklyn, New York, in June 30, 1966. His parents names were Lorna Smith Tyson and Jimmy Kirkpatrick. When he was young, he always getting into trouble with the police until he joined a boxing gym. His great physical specimen weighing 200 lbs at the age of 13, he could bench press more than his own weight.

Tyson was later removed from school by Cus. Cus adopted Tyson later on and had began training him. Unfortunately, Cus died in 1985 during Tyson’s early professional career.

Boxing Career

Mike Tyson won his first professional fight on March 6, 1985 by the first round knockout. He continued throughout his early career with booming early knock-outs. In November 22, 1986, Tyson was given his first title shot, fighting Trevor Berbick for the WBC heavyweight title.

Tyson won that fight and became the king of the world due to second round knockout, after 20 years and 4 months. He broke all previous records and became the youngest heavyweight champion ever. In 1990, Tyson seemed to have lost direction and his personal life and training outsider James “Buster” Douglas in Tokyo.

On paper, it looked like an easy victory for Mike, but Douglas was at an emotional peak after losing his mother to cancer three weeks prior to the fight. Tyson could not get past Douglas’s speedy jabs and later he lost the fight in the 10th round by knockout.

In 1991, Tyson was arrested on charges of assaults and a year later, he went to trial. He was convicted on February 10, 1992. He was given 6 years sentence but was released after serving for 3 years Tyson did not fight again until 1995.

When Mike started his career, he was greatly and progressing until 1997, when he came across Evander Holyfield. It was the 100$ million rematch, 8 months previously they had fought but this was the big one. They began fighting at a good pace however suddenly, with 40 seconds life in the 3rd round, the fight took an unexpected turn.

Holyfield got Tyson in a clinch, and Tyson rolled his read above Holyfield shoulder. He bit Holyfield’s right ear, serving it. Holyfield  shoved Tyson gone and started hopping up and down in pain, turning around in a circle holding his ear. The referee gave Tyson a warning however, again when they got into another clinch with Tyson doing the same again and again.

Tyson was fined $3 million for his ear-biting and banned for a short while form boxing. He began to decline by 1999. Finally, Tyson retired in 2006, with great and unbreakable records.

After his career he’s said that Tyson made over $400 Million. But somehow now he is in debt. Money was Tyson’s God he said, which was one of the reasons he continued to boxing after he felt could not be bothered with it.

Hall of Fame and Established Foundation

In June 12, 2011, Tyson was inducted to the international Boxing Hall of Fame. In August 2011, CBS aired an episode of the same name, featuring Mike Tyson. After makes its debut a one man show in Las Vegas, Tyson together up with director Spike Lee and bring the show to Broadway in August 2012.

In October 2012, Tyson initiated the Mike Tyson Cares Foundation. The duty of Mike Tyson Cares Foundation is to Give Kids a fighting opportunity by offer groundbreaking centers that provide for the complete needs of every kids from broken homes.

Huge Accomplishments of Mike Tyson

In February 2013, Tyson took his one-man show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth on 36- city, three month national tour. August 2013, Tyson coupled up with Acqunity Interactive CEO Garry Jones to form Iron Mike Productions, a boxing advancement company,  erstwhile well-known as Acqunity Sports.

In March 2015, Tyson appeared in the Track “Iconic” on Medonna’s album Rebel Heart. Tyson says some lines at the beginning of that song. In January 2017, Tyson launched his Youtube Channel with Shots Studios, a comedy video and comedy music production company with young digital stars like Lele Pons and Ruby Mancuso.

Tyson channel includes takeoff music and videos and comedy sketches. In 2017, Tyson published his second Book, Iron Ambition, which details his time with trainer and surrogate father Cus D Amato.
